Practical first-step support for dog behaviour concerns, available online or in person.
If you are worried about your dog’s behaviour and are not sure what kind of support they need, a Behaviour First Aid Consultation can help you understand the next safest step.
These consultations are designed to offer calm, practical guidance before you commit to a longer clinical behaviour pathway.
They can help you:
- Talk through what is happening
- Identify immediate management steps
- Reduce avoidable pressure on your dog
- Decide whether veterinary involvement may be needed
- Decide whether clinical behaviour support, follow-up support, classes or another route would be most appropriate
Choose the Option That Best Fits Your Dog and Household
Best if you want support from home.
A virtual consultation can be helpful if your dog finds visitors, travelling, new people or busy environments stressful.
It also works well if you live outside my in-person travel area, or if you would like to talk things through before deciding whether further support is needed.
Best if practical support in the real environment would help.
An in-person consultation can be useful when your dog’s behaviour is linked to home set-up, visitor routines, walking routes, lead handling, equipment, entrances, exits or safe spaces.
In-person support is used only where it is safe, appropriate, and welfare-led.
Not Sure Which Option to Choose?
You do not need to know the perfect service before getting in touch.
If you are unsure, start by choosing the option that feels safest and least stressful for your dog.
Choose virtual support if
As a general guide, choose virtual support if your dog is easily worried by visitors, travelling, handling, new people, dogs, traffic or unfamiliar environments.
Choose in-person support if
The home set-up, visitor routine, walking route or practical handling is a major part of the concern, and it is safe for me to observe your dog in person.
If the information you provide suggests another route would be more suitable, I will explain this clearly.
This Is Behavioural First Aid, Not a Full Clinical Behaviour Package

A calm note before booking
A Behaviour First Aid Consultation includes a concise Behaviour First Aid Summary, not a full clinical behaviour report.
It does not include a full clinical assessment, behaviour report, or ongoing clinical behaviour support.
If your dog needs clinical behaviour support, I will explain this clearly and guide you through the veterinary referral pathway.
If This Is Not The Right Service
I will guide you towards the most suitable next step
If your pre-consultation form suggests this is not the safest or most appropriate option for your dog, I will explain this clearly and guide you towards the most suitable next step.
This may include veterinary review, clinical behaviour support, follow-up support, classes or another pathway.

This is Not an Emergency Service
Please prioritise immediate safety where needed
Behaviour First Aid Consultations are not suitable for emergencies.
If there is an immediate risk to a person, dog or other animal, please prioritise safety and contact your veterinary practice, emergency veterinary service or appropriate local support before booking.
