Overview: Dog Reactivity & Canine Aggression Training Foundation Course

Do you have a lead reactive dog? Do they pull, lunge, bark, or scream at other dogs on a walk? Are you struggling to find places where there are no dogs just so you can both enjoy your walks together? The Dog Reactivity Course is a form of canine aggression training that works to decrease your dog’s reactivity, so they can be calm around other dogs. You can enjoy your walks again with a dog who can calmly walk past dogs.

All content is delivered using non-confrontational training and is based on current research in dog training and behaviour.

If this sounds like the course for you then book your spot now or contact our dog behaviourist if you would like to know more; we also cover Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and the Cotswolds.

What Support Do You Need?

Calm Around Triggers

This pet training for aggressive dogs will focus on modifying our pet’s emotional response when seeing dogs out on a walk. We need our dogs to feel secure when they see a dog to decrease the need for reactive behaviours.

Building a Relationship

It is important that we look at the kind of relationship we build with our dogs, one based off of cooperation and support.

Building Life Skills

While working to modify dog reactivity it is important that we teach alternative behaviours your dog can turn to. This will help to break the habit of always turning to reactivity when seeing a trigger.

Emergency Behaviours

Not every opportunity is a training opportunity. The course will also cover what to do in situations that are too overwhelming for your dog.

Confidence in Canine Clicker Training

Focus on what our dog is doing well to create a more optimistic dog. Often reactive dogs are overwhelmed with pessimistic thoughts. Changing this mindset is empowering and is the key to building a strong relationship with your dog.

Attention and Focus

If we are unable to get our dog’s attention we are unable to help them. This course will also teach how to build your dog’s confidence in turning to you for help in the most challenging situations.

How Will This Service Help You?

In Person Group Support

With the Dog Reactivity Course, you get 4 weeks of practical support in a training barn. Classes are limited to 4 people so I can give each person plenty of one-to-one support. The Foundation Course focuses on teaching our dogs how to be calm and settle around their trigger. You can book this dog behaviourist support in Hereford, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, and the Cotswolds.

Blended Learning

Each week you will be emailed the tasks you need to complete at home before the next session. You get remote support on our Facebook member’s group where you can post questions or videos of your training for feedback and guidance. It is a space where we can discuss the course content, and share pictures and videos of our progress and training for feedback and support. It is a friendly community that supports one another as supporting a reactive dog is challenging, and we are there to help one another. This is a great space to get continual support between classes to ensure you reach your goal of a calm and relaxed dog.
